Brazil have been knocked out of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 after a goalless draw against Jamaica at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Australia, on Wednesday.
Brazil had more control of the game but they were unable to penetrate the Jamaican defence.
Despite attempting eighteen shots with eight on target, the Brazilians could not go past Jamaica’s Rebecca Spencer.
Brazil made many great chances but their execution was not up to the mark as they could not trouble Spencer with all of their attempts.

Jamaica proceeded to the next round with five points. They managed to get a point against group leaders France with a goalless draw and then against Brazil. Meanwhile, they were able to beat Panama 1-0.
On the other hand, Brazil’s World Cup was no less than a nightmare.
After a very good start, with a 4-0 win against Panama, they lost 2-1 to France and were officially out after today’s draw.
It must be noted that the Jamaican football team had no money to travel to participate in the World Cup due to a lack of support from the Jamaican Football Federation. They needed crowdfunding to board the flight for the mega event.
This was the first time Jamaica qualified for the knockout stages of the Women’s World Cup.
Meanwhile, Brazil failed to qualify for the knockout stages for the third time after 1991 and 1995.
Earlier, Denmark beat Haiti 2-0 to qualify for the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup.
The winning side's skipper Pernille Harder converted a first-half penalty to register her maiden goal in the mega event.
The result ended a long drought for the Danes, who last advanced to the knockout stage in 1995. After defeating China 6-1, England topped Group D and face Nigeria in Brisbane on Monday, while runners-up Denmark meet Australia in Sydney.
